The Fall Conference of 2017 called, “Through Every Human Heart,” included the following presentations: Jennifer Donnelly (Terra Foundation for American Art) on “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly (Art): Questions of Quality and Morality in Modern Visual Culture”; Michal Luczewski (Centre for the Thought of John Paul II) on “Bringing (D)evil Back In: Neutralization of the Demonic and Transition to Modernity”; Benjamin Storey (Furman University) on “Pascal, Christianity, and Moral Relativism”. The Conference explored the perennial problem of good and evil, the significance of this distinction for human flourishing and the common good, and the place of good and evil in the theory and practice of various academic disciplines.
