Speaker: Muffet McGraw, former head women’s basketball coach, Notre Dame
During the third session of “Inspiring Conversations,” we will focus on the topic “Building a Winning Team” through a conversation with Muffet McGraw, former Karen & Kevin Keyes Family Notre Dame women’s basketball head coach. Over 33 seasons in South Bend, she hoisted the NCAA national championship trophy twice in 2001 and 2018 - becoming the sixth different women’s basketball head coach to win multiple NCAA titles. The conversation will explore topics such as team building, women in leadership, and life transitions. It will also allow the audience to engage in a meaningful question and answer session directly with Muffet McGraw.
Meet the Co-Founding Director

Chris Stevens ’74 oversees the Inspired Leadership Initiative as its Co-Founding Director. He is a former Irish basketball player and past member of the Notre Dame Monogram Club Board of Directors. He is one of the three original developers of the Keurig Premium Coffee System and developed the brand, sales, distribution, and marketing strategies. He was also responsible for all aspects of Keurig’s corporate social responsibility practices as part of its commitment to donate at least five percent of pre-tax profits to environmental and social causes.
In the fall of 2012, Chris joined the Mendoza College of Business as a professional specialist teaching undergraduate courses. After retiring from Keurig in 2013, he began teaching M.B.A. courses in business problem-solving, change management, and entrepreneurship at Notre Dame’s South Bend and Chicago campuses. In 2017, he joined Mendoza as a full-time faculty member.

Muffet McGraw is the former Karen & Kevin Keyes Family Notre Dame women’s basketball head coach. For 33 seasons, which included two national championships, McGraw patrolled the sidelines in South Bend.
Her legendary career included an impressive 936 career wins (ranks sixth all-time among Division I coaches), including 848 at Notre Dame. During the 2018-19 season, McGraw became the fourth-fastest coach to reach the 900-win milestone. She is one of just five coaches in NCAA Division I history with over 930 wins, nine Final Fours, and multiple NCAA championships.
