Galactic Archaeology

Similar to archeologists uncovering artifacts to study ancient civilizations, or paleontologists using fossil fragments to reconstruct the dinosaurs, astronomers observe the night sky to piece together the history of the cosmos. We can use stellar “fossils” to track the evolution of our galaxy and shed light on the early universe.
