Meet the Speaker: Emily Godsey

Emily Godsey, MSHA, FACHE, currently serves as the Administrator of Innovation & Digital Transformation at Mayo Clinic, where additional roles include Operations Manager for various oncology and transplantation units and Principal Practice Partner. Since April 2021, Emily has also held a position as Assistant Professor and Instructor in Health Care Administration at the Mayo Clinic School of Medicine. Previous experience includes significant statistical and analytical roles at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama and research positions at institutions such as Miles College and the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Emily holds a Master of Science in Health Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, along with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Political Science from Birmingham-Southern College.

Meet the Speaker: Scott Helgeson, M.D.

Scott Helgeson, M.D., is a board-certified pulmonologist, intensivist, clinical informatician, and internist with expertise in occupational and environmental pulmonary disease. He is also an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic.

Dr. Helgeson attended medical school at the University of Missouri in Kansas City, MO. He obtained internal medicine and subspecialty training in pulmonology and critical care medicine at Mayo Clinic. He received a master’s degree in clinical informatics at Arizona State University.

Dr. Helgeson’s clinical practice focuses on the treatment of patient with occupational and environmental exposure causing pulmonary disease. His research interests include clinical decision support systems and machine learning.
