Registration – Bridging the Divide

Sadly, one thing many people agree on is that no matter which candidate wins the upcoming presidential election, our nation is likely to remain deeply divided. Repairing or bridging the deep political and social divisions within our society will require leadership, consensus building, and trust.
We at the University of Notre Dame are not immune from the political polarization in our nation. However, we have the benefit of being members of a supportive academic community – one that encourages respect for others’ opinions, promotes critical thinking, and recognizes the struggles of those around us.
In this spirit, Notre Dame is hosting a six-part speaker series ahead of the presidential election on some of the issues that often divide Americans. Our aim is to help people find common ground on these issues through civil discourse and thoughtful conversations. This new series is offered by the Office of the Provost in partnership with the colleges, schools, centers and institutes across the University.
