Center for Accounting Research & Education

Dear Friends,

The Center for Accounting Research and Education holds annual conferences, working with global experts to create topical and timely content. In 2020, we planned the first of several conferences on “Accountability in a Sustainable World.” In 2022, realizing the need for ongoing exploration of this topic, CARE launched the digital journal Accountability in a Sustainable World Quarterly (ASWQ).

ASWQ’s goals are to (1) build and strengthen links between academia (teaching and research) and practice, (2) encourage younger academics, providing opportunities to present their work to academics and practitioners, and (3) provide opportunities for practitioners to communicate with academics, influencing their work.

ASWQ is the leading practitioner-focused journal in the accounting for sustainability and responsible investing space. The provocative articles in ASWQ are from well-informed thought leaders who provide and justify unanswered questions they feel should be given priority by university faculty.

The most recent ASW Conference included 50+ speakers focusing on key pillars of a sustainable future: investment, assurance, regulation, target setting, and the politicization of ESG. We delved deeper into regulation, sustainability reporting, capital allocation, and performance metrics. The conversation answered an immediate need for dialogue about sustainability, data, measurement, assurance, high-quality information to inform investment decisions, and accountability in setting personal, corporate, and public sector goals.

We encourage you to experience past conferences by following the “Dive Deeper” links below. To stay informed of our activities, receive invitations to attend the annual conference, and more, join the ASWQ mailing list by emailing us at [email protected].

Best wishes from campus,
