Meet the Speaker: Phillip Smith ’19 M.Arch.

Born and Raised in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, Phillip Smith ’19 M.Arch. is the son of the late David Smith and Laura Smith. He holds a BA in Historic Preservation and Community Planning from College of Charleston (2015) and a Masters of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame (2019). He currently serves as a Professor of Classical Architecture at the American College of the Building Arts, Charleston SC and Junior Partner of Innova Architecture. Smith is the 2023 Georgia Tech Academy of Medicine Lecturer. Smith also serves as a Board of Trustees Member of the Charleston Museum, State Board of Review Member for the South Carolina National Register of Historic Places, Community Advisory Board Member for the Carolina Lowcountry and Atlantic World Program and as a Expert Docent for the Annual Fall Homes and Gardens Tour with the Preservation Society of Charleston.
