| The Supreme Court has handed down decisions on two critical cases: Students for Fair Admissions (SFA) v. President and Fellows of Harvard and SFA v. University of North Carolina. Both cases addressed whether and how universities can create racially diverse student bodies. What do we make of these decisions? How does Notre Dame, as an institution deeply informed by Catholic Social Teaching, move forward? What is the future of affirmative action – and racial equity – in higher education in general? This discussion of the legal, moral, and social implications of the Supreme Court’s latest move was recorded on July 5, 2023.
