It’s Different, Not Difficult: Dr. Gabriel Burks on Attending an HBCU & Being A Scientist

In this week’s episode, Isaiah and Tykiera have a conversation with new Notre Dame professor, Dr. Gabriel Burks of the Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department. In this conversation, they talk about Dr. Burks home state of Lousiana, his time attending the HBCU Grambling State University for his undergraduate degree in Physics and the PWI Drexel University for his Masters and Doctorate in Materials Science & Engineering. Dr. Burks also speaks about the highly sucessful company he co-founded, Frost Defense Envirotech Inc., and finally, he leaves the Black community with a powerful message about inspiring Black people to engage with and become a part of the scientific world.
