de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture

Dear Friends,

The mission of the de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture is to explore the richness of the
Catholic moral and intellectual tradition through teaching, research, service, and dialogue, at the
highest level and across a range of disciplinesā€”both on campus and in the global public
square, where it brings Notre Dameā€™s distinctive voice to the most important public
conversations concerning human dignity and the common good.

The de Nicola Center is a vital forum for interdisciplinary research and discussion of the most
pressing human questions. Its integrated research program includes initiatives on bioethics and
the human person; the transformative power of beauty; racial healing, justice, and the Catholic
tradition; and building a civilization of love for mothers, children, and families. It hosts visiting
scholars and post-doctoral students, offers graduate fellowships, and funds faculty hiring.
In collaboration with Notre Dame Press, the de Nicola Center edits four award-winning book
series, which has published 28 titles since 2016 (including the unreleased works of Aleksandr
Solzhenitsyn).

Its annual Fall Conference is the largest interdisciplinary academic event on campus, drawing
more than 1,000 scholars and students from around the globe. It regularly features keynote
presentations by eminent scholars such as Alasdair MacIntyre, Nobel Laureate James
Heckman, Mary Ann Glendon, RĆ©mi Brague, Charles Taylor, Michael Sandel, and Jean Bethke
Elshtain.

The de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture is delighted to collaborate with ThinkND to share
the fruits of our research. We invite you to explore our work and join these important
conversations!
