Jon M. Huntsman, Jr., former ambassador to China, Russia, and Singapore, was the featured livestreamed speaker for CHINA Town Hall 2022, a national conversation by the National Committee on U.S.-China Relations on how the U.S.-China relationship affects our communities. From supply chains to national security, new technologies to climate change, the future of both countries will be determined by their relations with one another and the global community.

Before the Huntsman livestream, the Liu Institute for Asia and Asia Studies and four of its affiliated experts participated in a panel discussion about U.S.-China relations, one of 80 such conversations in venues across the country.

The Liu panel will feature Isheika Cleare, a Notre Dame political science doctoral candidate who specializes in Korea and Japan foreign policy and how they respond to demands from the US and China; Joshua Eisenman, associate professor of politics, Keough School of Global Affairs; and Tengfei Luo, Dorini Family Professor, College of Engineering; and moderator Michel Hockx, director for the Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies, Keough School. This event was recorded on November16, 2022.
