Catholics & Youth Sports: An Alternative Tradition

In light of the Vatican document “Giving the Best of Yourself”, Fr. Patrick Kelly, SJ discusses a Catholic tradition of play & sport that ranges from Aquinas to John Paul II. Along the way he speaks on the idea of “play”, sports from a perspective of encounter, inclusion and service, the concept of “Flow” and more. This session took place as part of A Symposium on the Church & Sport, hosted by the University of Notre Dame on March 7, 2019.
