Catholic Health Care’s Role in Integral Human Development

What role can Catholic health care play in the moral development of the United States? Sr. Carol Keehan, DC, RN, MS, claims it has the ability and obligation to go beyond providing services to changing the world’s perception of humanity and dignity of life. Keehan is the ninth President and Chief Executive Officer of the Catholic Health Association of the United States (CHA). She assumed her duties as of Oct. 10, 2005 and is responsible for all association operations, both at its St. Louis and Washington, DC offices.

The annual Rev. Bernie Clark, C.S.C. lecture was created by the Center for Social Concerns in 2009 in order to highlight the issues and themes within the Catholic social tradition, and to inspire students to live out Fr. Bernie’s teaching on social justice.
