A Conversation with Cardinal Rodríguez: Thoughts on Laudato Si and the Synod

The Center for Social Concerns’ annual theme for 2015–16 was the “Care of All Creation,” connecting to the publication of Laudato Si. In January 2016, Cardinal Oscar Rodríguez, Archbishop of Tegucigalpa, Hondoras and one of nine advisors to Pope Francis at the time, visited Notre Dame to discuss the encyclical and its implications for daily life. Rodríguez argues that family and community must be the starting point of educating the next generation to respect and care for the environment.
