100-Mile Summit Kickoff Lecture: Place-Based Community Regeneration

Join the School of Architecture’s Housing and Community Regeneration Initiative for the third annual 100-Mile Summit, where community leaders gather for discussion, idea sharing, and commararderie as we all navigate building just and beautiful urban centers.

In this lecture panelists will discuss strategies for allocating limited funds (to be catalytic), attracting (the right kinds of) investment, and addressing housing shortages (by addressing failed urbanism) in the process of reactivating downtown development in Midwestern cities.

Join us on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, from 5:15 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. ET.

Speaker:
Dave Weaver, Founder, weImpact

Panelists:
Jim Brainard, Former Mayor Carmel, Indiana
Rebekah Kik, Assistant City Manager of Kalamazoo, Michigan
Stefanos Polyzoides, Professor and Dean, University of Notre Dame School of Architecture

Moderator:
Marianne Cusato, Professor of the Practice and Director of the Housing & Community Regeneration Initiative
