Notre Dame exhibit takes history on the road

Nearly 500 people visited “The Fighting Irish in New York City: A Conversation with Curators and Archivists” on display at the New York Yankees Museum prior to the kickoff of the Shamrock Series game vs. Army on November 23, 2024. The exhibit highlighted historical football-related materials from the University of Notre Dame Archives and Rare Books and Special Collections in the Hesburgh Libraries. It contextualized and analyzed the rich shared histories of the University of Notre Dame, the New York Yankees and the Fighting Irish football team’s rivalry with Army.

Presenting this exhibit at Yankee Stadium was a hefty undertaking that required the planning and expertise of individuals and departments throughout the Hesburgh Libraries.
