Football, Civil Rights, and Doing Justice: A Conversation with Justice Alan Page

Notre Dame Law School welcomed Justice Alan Page of the Minnesota Supreme Court to speak on October 11, 2019.

Justice Page, who earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1967, was an All-American football player for the Fighting Irish and went on to have a Hall of Fame career with the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears in the NFL. He earned his J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School while he was playing in the NFL.

In 1993, he became the first African American to serve as a justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court. He retired in 2015.
