Ernest Morrell on Teaching Critical Media Literacy

Ernest Morrell is the Coyle Professor in Literacy Education and the Director of the Center for Literacy Education. He holds appointments in the Department of English and of Africana Studies. He is also the director of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) James R. Squire Office for Policy Research in the English Language Arts. We talk about his journey to Notre Dame, his work forming future educators, and the necessity (and means) of developing a critical media literacy.
